Dell Inspiron M101z Laptop: First Look at Specs & Review

From the abode of one of the world’s largest manufacturers of laptops, Dell, comes a thin and light laptop which has not yet been released by Dell, the Dell Inspiron M101z, which is the latest that it has to offer. The laptop is expected to be released sometime in August, but the people at Liliputing did get their hands on this new and appealing device and have shared their views on it.

We all know that Dell laptops are the most preferred laptops in the industry, especially by the college students. This is mostly because it has proven its ability to provide computing power and features at quite an economical budget. The unique blend of cost and facets makes the Dell laptops truly appealing and rather innovative.

The Dell Inspiron M101z laptop boasts of a new and elegant design, and is about the same size as the Dell Inspiron 11z. The laptop is actually set to replae the ultra-portable Dell Inspiron 11z laptop. Apart from the changes which are apparently visible, the notable changes included in the laptop are the provision for the AMD and ATI components, that is, the AMD processor and the ATI graphics chip.


The Dell Inspiron M101z laptop has an 11.6 inch display which is capable of supporting 1366 x 768 pixels of resolution, and is being accompanied by the 1.7GHz AMD Athlon II Neo single core processors and ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics. The laptop is said to be capable of supporting up to 4 GB of RAM, and up to 320 GB of hard drive space. The total configuration and specifications of the laptop are shown as below.

According to Dell, the Dell Inspiron M101z laptop is accompanied by a battery which gives a backup of 6 hours and 36 minutes, and this fact shall actually play in the preference of this laptop over other 11.6 inch laptops available by other vendors, such as the HP Pavilion dm1z. The HP Pavilion dm1z has quite a similar specification sheet as the Dell Inspiron M101z laptop, but is priced at $449 is U.S., whereas the Dell Inspiron M101z laptop is accompanied by a price tag of £379 in the U.K. site, which is around $584. The price seems to be a bit higher than HP.
